The teams in IL 101 (taught by Stella Herzig) choose a topic of interest to them and that they felt would be of interest to a university community. They discuss the latest research and their own perspectives; they recommend a book from our SAU library, and recommend an action for the listeners to consider.
These 5-11 minute each episodes were recorded at and originally aired on KALA-FM under the auspices of Dave Baker at the SAU radio station studio.
The opinions/conclusions of the student-hosts are their own and not that of St. Ambrose University or KALA-FM.
"Innovative qualities matter in the job market. That’s because employers want more from college graduates than good grades. What employers really want – according to a recent survey – are graduates who can effectively work in diverse teams, are creative thinkers and have persuasive communication skills. In short, employers want innovators.*"

"Communicating your skill set clearly to prospective employers is crucial. Remember that hard and soft skills matter, with soft skills becoming increasingly sought-after in today’s workplace. If you’re a great communicator, an empathetic leader or a creative problem-solver, don’t forget to highlight those skills alongside your technical and software expertise. This will make it easier for employers to understand the value you can bring to their organization."
