Definition of Domestic Violence:
Violent or aggressive behavior within the home, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse or partner.
Domestic violence (also called intimate partner violence (IPV), domestic abuse, battered women, or relationship abuse) is a pattern of behaviors used by one partner to maintain power and control over another partner in an intimate relationship.
Definition of Child Abuse:
"Any recent act or failure to act on the part of a parent or caretaker, which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation"; or "An act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk of serious harm."
Definition of Elder Abuse:
"Elder abuse is an intentional act, or failure to act, by a caregiver or another person in a relationship involving an expectation of trust that causes or creates a risk of harm to an older adult."
