LGBTQ+ Resources: QCA and State Resources

​This project’s purpose is to create a safe environment in our Congregation and the larger community where LGBTQIA individuals can participate openly in the responsibilities and the benefits of the community without fear of penalty or discrimination due to their sexual orientation or gender.

MCC QC is a member of Churches United of the Quad Cities, an organization whose mission is to increase the expression of unity among Christian churches and empower them for service through Cooperative Ministry, Witness, Advocacy, Celebration in Worship, and Growth through study and dialogue - all of which express and honor the diversities among and within our communities.

In addition, we respect the rights of all persons to worship God through the many different faiths and paths that are in the diverse spiritual world.

The One Human Family of the Quad Cities Area is an organization that promotes diversity and inclusion in the Quad Cities area.

Our mission is to welcome and protect the life, dignity, and human rights of all people in all places in our community.

A social, educational, and support group for any individuals who identify themselves as transgendered.

Providing health management, coordinated care services and advocacy to those impacted by HIV/STI/AIDS and other related conditions.
The Project of the Quad Cities envisions a future where HIV/STI/AIDS are no longer stigmatized and everyone living with, affected by or at risk of contracting HIV/STI/AIDS has the support they need to succeed.

Initially, QCAD focused primarily on creating an affirming community for youths. Later we expanded to provide support, education and advocacy across the ages including programming for youth, young adults, adults, and seniors. What started as a safe place for the GLBTQ community and allied youth to relax and know they are accepted, became the area's leading organization in GLBTQ issues.

Excellent care has no boundaries. LGBT Veterans face increased health risks and unique challenges in accessing quality healthcare. The Iowa City VA Health Care System is committed to providing inclusive, comprehensive, patient-centered care to all Veterans, including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Veterans in a safe, respectful healthcare environment.

One Iowa is a statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) organization preserving and advancing equality for LGBTQ individuals in Iowa through grassroots efforts and education.

The University of Iowa LGBTQ Clinic serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning communities. Our clinic provides full-service health care to meet the LGBTQ health care needs.

The Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault (IowaCASA) is a statewide organization whose mission includes ending all forms of sexual violence, and improving the services and responses available to those who have experienced sexual violence. We advocate on behalf of people who have experienced sexual violence and the programs that support them.

The mission of Iowa Safe Schools is to provide safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environments and communities for LGBTQ & Allied youth through education, outreach, and advocacy.

Iowa Victim Service Call Center is a resource to victims and survivors of crime throughout all of Iowa. With staff available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, callers are given the full attention they deserve. Since inception, we have received calls from victims and survivors of many crimes, including: homicide, robbery, kidnapping, identity theft, hate crime, elder abuse, drunk driving, burglary, bullying, assault, arson, human trafficking, incest, sexual abuse as a child, sexual assault, child physical abuse, teen dating violence, domestic violence, and more.
