Remember: learn about all of the different strategies and use them in your searches to return relevant results. Searching is a bit of an art and science, so once you know about searching strategically, you will learn to search more effectively and efficiently. Use the list of Library Databases to begin your search for nursing assignments.

On this tab you'll find examples of different types of research and review articles. Some of the examples highlight the information you'll want to look for when you're appraising an article. Some of the examples take you to articles in CINAHL where you can practice your appraisal skills.

A research article describes an original study that the author(s) conducted themselves. The main focus of the article is to describe the theoretical approach, a hypothesis, methods to test the hypothesis, and results of the authors' own research experiment.
